Hope everyone is well. You may not remember me. I was a stagehand at your show in New Orleans. I just wanted to say I have been working concerts of all types for a long time. I see a lot of up and coming bands and LOTS of concerts. So many in fact I really don't pay attention to the shows anymore. I did make it a point to check out your part of the Skynard/Kid rock show. I was very impressed not only with the talent that was so evident but also the way ya'll conducted yourselves backstage. A lot of bands would have let opening for such big headliners go to their heads. Not you. Ya'll were polite, down to earth and level headed. Then you got on stage and did a great job! Excellent performance!! I am happy to say I have a new band to listen to that doesn't invoke images of jerks when I listen to the album. Keep your heads up high where they belong and not up your ass like other band members I could name, but won't out of politeness. Talent ain't crap without your fans. Looking forward to having you back in New Orleans as a headliner cause thats where ya'll are heading! I have been doing this gig long enough to recognize a band heading for the top when I see one. Thanks again for the download card and the guitar pick. Please tell Ross I am sorry again for starting to chew him out about putting things on his kick drum case. His back was turned to me and I thought he was one of my stagehands screwing up! Keep up the good work and be careful driving around. I know I am just a lowly stage hand but ya'll treated us like people. Thats rare and we all appreciated it. Come back soon! Looking forward to it. Crawfish

Hey Crawfish! Thanks for sharing that with us. It's a side of the band fans rarely get to see or hear about even. I'll bet those band members who haven't treated you and your crew very well are probably all sweetness to their fans. It's nice to hear that Davy, Adam and Ross are consistently the kind and gracious people we fans meet.

Yes, thanks for sharing....that was great to read. That's why it's such a pleasure to help this band out however we can - they're genuinely nice guys. And I agree - they're definitely a band who's heading to the top.

Wow, kind of new to this computer thing and didn't really think people would read that. Thanks for the warm welcome! If ya'll are that interested I will give ya some details. This was the first concert of the tour, which is always a CF. Skynard/Kid Rock had about 17 tractor trailers full of stuff. I helped unload them. Set it all up and we did a small Kid Rock rehearsal/sound check. My steward came and told me the opening band was backing in, go help unload the truck. I grabbed 4 guys and went outside and a ford van with a little white trailer was there. I am d**n near 40 so I don't want to sound insulting, but 3 kids got out and I thought you gotta but kidding. They didn't look quite old enough to play in a bar! They immediately introduced themselves and shook everyones hand. Then they actually started unloading their own gear! I almost fell down. We had to politely intervene and do our job. My steward would beat me with a broom handle if a guitar player broke a finger before the concert unloading gack. They were very polite and obviously from somewhere else by the accent. They were quite proud to declare Isle of Man! We helped set up their rigs onstage and they did more than we did carrying on a nice conversation the whole time. I like them right off. But I was thinking what kind of music? I had never heard of them you see. I was working the concert doing set changes so I had all access and made sure I caught their act. I was extremely impressed. They even gave me a free download card with their logo on it and a guitar pick for my collection. Then I thought man, these kids are living a dream!! To be that young opening for Skynard/Kid Rock you would have to be GOOD. They are. They got talent and more important they have their heads screwed on strait with a dose of humility. THAT is rare. Trust me. I have to deal with a lot of musicians.

Wow, kind of new to this computer thing and didn't really think people would read that. Thanks for the warm welcome! Well I consider your insights a major contribution here. YES!!! Definitely interested! But, what's "CF"? I think a lot of big names have a number of tractor trailers of stuff. I know one band has loads of lights, jumbo screens, and tons of computer stuff, but from the pics I've seen from this tour Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd only had one big screen and some lights. What are they hauling around in all those trucks? LOL! I know. I always refer to them as 'the boys.' ;D Davy and Adam turned 21 this year and Ross just turned 22 in Sept. They have old souls though. Yeah, cause that's what they're used to. I've never seen them unload their gear but I've seen them pack it up themselves, or try to in between chatting and taking pictures with fans after gigs in smaller venues. ;D Hmmmm. . .never thought of that. I always thought 'big' bands had to hire people to set all their stuff cause if they had to do it on their own it would take a week. I'm so glad to hear all this. Like I said before they are genuinely kind and gracious. I found a video on youtube from more than a year ago, or around the time they first started touring the US (I think someone in it said Davy was 19.) and it was amazing to watch because in this one part Davy was being interviewed and I couldn't help noticing he spoke with the same. .um. .amount of humility as I hear in any interviews he does now. There are no swelled heads here. They are at least genuinely appreciative, if not grateful, that people come to listen to them. This is the reason we love their music. This is the reason we love them. I believe you. I've met a few musicians at the same place the boys are in their career (but who are not nearly as talented) who could learn a lot from the boys.

CF was a polite way of using an industry term, cluster f@!k. This as the first concert on the tour so they have probly got rid of a few trucks as they worked the kinks out of the rig. There were a lot of lights and a lot of audio. Its a pretty big stage set with a lot of scaffold and decks too.
