I was listening to The Law earlier today. They have a song called For a Little Ride, which I love A LOT. I bought the album when it came out, but until today didn't really think about who was playing on it. I just enjoyed it. Today, I apparently had time on my hands and started to wonder who was playing lead guitar on that song. I knew they had used studio musicians on some of the recordings, but this guy was so good. (And I know there are a lot of great studio musicians!) I searched the web as best I could, but ran out of time and never found the definitive answer. Do you ever chase a sound that way? Are there musicians (other than BDS; I think we can all agree on them) who drag you along in their wake?

A band that did it for me is the Why Store. Band from Indiana. Those guys were just tight. Fantastic guitar player. Michael David Smith. If anyone wants to check them out, let me know. Their biggest hit was a song called Lack Of Water. Anyone other than me heard of them??

Hey skot71, I'm not familiar with them. Are they at all like BDS?

More rock than blues, but they had a bluesy feel every now and then. Check them out: www.megaupload.com/?d=VHBHYI67Those are MP3s, but you'll get the idea. That was recorded from the soundboard, and a friend of mine taped with a mic from the audience. The guitarist remixed it. Great sounding show. Let me know what you think. I have much more.

I wish I could listen, but I'm not equipped to do that at home (my computer is so old, it has a handcrank) and I'm on vacation for two weeks. So I won't get to hear them until the second week of December. But I will definitely give them a listen then, as i love good rock, whether blues-laced or straight-up. (This is one reason I stayed out of the flac/mp3/torrent-is-a-fast-stream conversation. I've never downloaded a song in my life. Oh, take that back. I did download a cd to my flashdrive once, just to see if I could do it. )

n2music, I could burn a few CDs if you prefer? Send me a message if you're still interested. I download all the time, but I'm spoiled with VERY speedy connection at work. Still on dial up at home....

There's one song on YouTube caled I Got It. The grainy black and white footage on parts of that song was shot by me. I had the nightvision turned on on my videocamera by mistake. Genius cameraman, huh?? Ha!

Me too, Skot. Broadband at work and dial-up at home. Thanks for your offer. I'll mail you. And thanks for the Why Store heads up. I'm looking forward to hearing them.
