September 5th. It's an important day in Slam history, because today, Ross Doyle gets all legal on our asses and finally turns 21...My, how they grow! ;D The oldest member of the band, he's still yet to reach drinking age in the USA, so tonight's gig in Seattle marks what is sure to be a major celebration.
We think it'd make his day that bit more special if he had some messages from friends, family members & fans - hopefully the first two groups have plans already (!), so if you fall into the New Slam Fan category and want to show 'Sten' some love, why not send him a birthday email to ross(AT)backdoorslam.com?
We'll be sure to post some photies of the birthday night and any related tomfoolery/shenanigans/antics, so keep checking back. Thanks in advance!

Well Ross has been doing a fair amount of drinking and at the same time rubbing the fact he can get into some of the venue's in mine and Davy's faces. His Mum and Dad flew out to Vancouver to see him and he was very pleased to see them, he also received a couple of bottles of Magners Irish Cider (his favorite). I think we'll be probably celebrating when we get home!

Awww! That's so nice that his mum and dad made it out to see him. You guys have been away from home for so long, that as exciting as all this is for you, there still is nuthin' like family. I just got off the phone with my mum. Kinda homesick myself today....Missing Massachusetts. Ross will get to see all kinds of great music in Austin. If you have a chance, catch The Band of Heathens. They play at a place call Momo's frequently-got their disc recorded there. I saw them here recently. Different style than you guys, but all are really talented musicians. If you see them, tell 'em Lisa says hi! I got to catch them twice this summer also. At Pat's BBQ, the place I dropped your disc at last week and at a bar called Hogwallow. Lately, its Slam and Heathens I'm playing much of the, whether at home or on my pod.... Thanks again for the music! Oh yeah, and DO kick Dylan for me in Austin. I am getting really pissed at him for leaving Utah out of his tour dates for so many years. Last time he was here was 2002! Now that just not fair! Tell him to get his scrawny butt here and bring Amos Lee and Elvis Costello with him (or even just Amos!). Bye! Lisa

I saw you at the Gorge Aug 25th (first show/side stage/in the sun - my fav performance of the event)... you must have stayed around WA for a bit after if you were in Seattle on Ross' Bday... what a great place for the three of you to be on his birthday... it's a pretty laid back place.
Well, [glow=red,2,300]Happy Birthday Ross![/glow] I am sure your 21st year will be unforgettable. You certainly are a gift to many. Thanks for keeping the beat!
