Sandy Denny at this moment. I agree with you agreeing with everyone else. I love the BDS rendition of Red House.

As good as Davy, Adam and Ross' version of "Red House" is, I really think they do David Crosby's "Almost Cut My Hair" even better. Actually, I think it's better than the original song, because it's done with such power and feeling. I've see it done three times live already and hope to see the lads perform it again at Milwaukee in November.
Personally, I think anything these three young men put their collective minds to, can be done by them. It's like trying to stop a freight train traveling at hight speed........you just can't do it.

Based on Davy's recommendation, I'm listening to Sonny Landreth's "From the Reach". Wow.
BDS and Sonny Landreth together? Keep your eyes and calendar open and your fingers crossed!

I would definitely agree with that recommendation too. I bought that CD when Blues Revue magazine had a lot of good to say about it. That is the August/September issue which has Sonny Landreth on the cover. The man is one of the masters of slide guitar and it is a wonderful album. Roy

I re-watched some of the Allman Brothers Live at the Beacon today. I think the BDS/Southern rock thing started me thinking. I still don't see it.

Not sure if anyone here has picked up a copy of Walter Trout's new CD "The Outsider", but if you haven't, I really feel this may be Walter's best CD to date. Tremendous playing and great voice, Water covers quite a stretch of music in this one. The only thing that I have found wrong with it, is that it seems to be stuck in my 6 disc rotation in my car and I can't (or won't) take it out! LOL!! Roy

Looks likt you are destined to buy a second copy of the Outsider Roy! It is a good album. I'm also listening to a band called Rose Hill Drive who are a rock power trio from Boulder, Colarado. Interestingly like BDS they were championed by Pete Townsend and toured with the Who. Certainly more rock than blues, they are worth a listen, and have released two albums, Rose Hill Drive (2006) and Moon is the New Earth (2008). Some of their excellent live recordings can be found at: www.archive.org/details/RoseHillDriveEnjoy

Still waiting for the Lads to come out with their second album, but until then, I would like to recommend Albert Cummings new CD entitled, "Feel So Good-Live". If you like Blues/Rock music played with a Fender Strat that just makes your head spin, then this is the album for you. I've had this new CD for about two weeks and next to Joe Bonamassa's new Live CD, it is one of the best albums of the year. The other thing is when I ordered two copies, one for me and one for a friend, they came with Albert's signature inside. I couldn't believe he signed every CD so I wrote his website. In fact he didn't sign every CD, just the first 150 and I did get two of them. Nice! Roy P.S. I'll be seeing Albert tomorrow at the House of Blues in Chicago. Oh man, I can't wait!

BDS - all afternoon. (I keep wanting to put an i in there :BDiS. Just kidding, guys. )
Kaleigh, glad someone else needs downtime. I'm not a Sinatra fan, but a good ballad never goes amiss. Or just music, no words. When I need to drift away, I sometimes put on Gato Barbieri. Anyone else like jazz?
Kareem, I'm going to be paying attention to your posts. You're listening to people I've never heard of. It doesn't surprise me, but it makes me curious about what I'm missing.

Today it's Knopfler : Golden Heart. Of course, the day is young.
Lucky you, Kareem. Only 8 days! Let us know how the concert goes. (Not acquainted with Phamous Phaces, either. What type of music are we talking about?)
