I know I mentioned this before, but if you've never heard of Albert Cummings, you owe it to yourself to purchase his new Live CD entitled "Feel So Good-Live". Of course, only purchase this CD if you like Blues /Rock music with great guitar licks, a guy with a great voice and two awesome backup people on bass and drums. Sounds like three young guys I know! Honestly, I've had this CD in my car this past month and I'm not sure I've listened to much else other than a live show that I have of the Lads. It is so very good! Here's Albert's website: www.albertcummings.com/albertcummings.htmlAnd here are some pictures that I took of at a show of his at the House of Blues in Chicago, September 26th: www.flickr.com/photos/8384830@N04/sets/72157607545202459/(Paste the entire link into your browser) Roy

Dave 82775 did you get to the woody?what did you think? The Woodcutter (at Hartlepool)? In a word - No - me train didn't get back to Newcastle until 9.25pm. We were stood still for ages just north of Berwick. Never mind. Still looking for a Oli Brown tape of his walter Trout suport spot recently. Plenty of Trout about - but no Oli

No - me train didn't get back to Newcastle until 9.25pm. We were stood still for ages just north of Berwick. Shame you did not make the show. Sounds like your train had been stopped at the border! Maybe they have to fit different sized wheels to stop an invasion like the Chinese and Russian's used to do! ;D To get back on topic, I've been listening to some Matt Schofield, who is an excellent young British guitarist, with influences such as Albert Collins and Robben Ford. His web pages are here: www.mattschofield.comwww.myspace.com/mattschofieldHe's also recorded with Ian Siegal who is another great British blues artist. His website is: www.iansiegal.comCheck their tour dates for a place near you (both playing Newcastle soon!)

Is that near the O.D. Corral? Tonight I'm going with Leo Kottke: Chewing Pine. (I have to skip #4. Sometimes I forget and it's traumatic. Then I have to play #2 twice to cleanse the palate.)

I'll be seeing both Ian Siegal and Matt Schofield at the Carlisle blues festival next month. Maybe Back Door Slam can appear there next year. They fit the bill, great contempoary modern blues from the UK, and its not too far from the Isle either

Today it's a lovely little band from the Isle of Man. (Hey. That almost rhymed. A lovely little band from the Isle of Man. Or maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.) Come home, you guys, and record something! It was a year ago I first heard you and I'm getting to the point where I'm making up word games with your song titles. But no pressure; it'll all come around. Not too late, I hope. Gotta leave now. Outside woman rolling away.

Today it's a lovely little band from the Isle of Man. Two weeks from Thursday I get to see the live item, fourth time since April. Oh man, am I psyched for this show! Funny, as I type this I'm actually listening to a live recording of one of their shows from March of this year. Sure sounds good! Roy

Siegal is there the following two days and Scofield one week later! Today I'm listening to a great blues rock band from the 1990s called The Hoax. Here's a link to an MP3 from the Hoax’s live album Live Forever. The song is called Driving Blind and I really like it. It is representative of what a great live band the Hoax were: www.grooveyardrecords.com/hoaxlive.html
